Corsair Kicks Off High-Speed Extreme SSDs

Corsair has added a second line to its solid-state drives tailored to performance users. The Extreme series uses a fast controler from Indilinx and multi-level cell storage from Samsung to put its speed near the top of the field. Its reading speed crests at 240MB per second and is paired with a maximum write speed of 170MB per second.

The SATA II-based, 2.5-inch disks come in 32GB (X32), 64GB (X64) and 128GB (X128) capacities and should support optimizations for flash drives present in Windows 7 and other operating systems. Corsair doesn’t provide pricing but says each capacity should be available through resellers almost immediately.
